808 did a great job with our family session. We had a large group of 13 with 5 young children. Our photographer Lauren worked for the large group well and got good results. 808 was easy to work with from scheduling to completion and found their prices very reasonable. Our photographer got caught in some traffic issues but her and the staff from 808 kept in contact with us as well as one of their staff showing up to make sure we were taken care of.
We had family pictures done in Maui just a few weeks ago. We just received the digital file and the pictures are absolutely amazing. Excellent quality the pictures came out better than expected. Usually, I am very picky with family pictures but this time the photographer Lauren was great and professional. She made the photo shoot easy and I have no complaints. I definitely would highly recommend to anyone. We had family pictures done back in 2015 when I got Married in Maui but used a different photographer and I have to say I love the newest pictures much better and it was much more affordable.

Had a surprise engagement photo shoot in Maui with Ian back in December and had an amazing experience. The set up was easy, with plenty of recommendations based on where we’re located. During the shoot, he made us feel very comfortable and at ease, which made it fun and enjoyable for us. We were a family of 9, including two only partially cooperative toddlers, who wanted to grab the opportunity for some family portraits at Christmas vacation. On somewhat short notice 808 set up our date and a convenient time for the toddlers just walking distance from our vacation house. Our photographer, Keala, who is a mother of a toddler herself, skillfully used our time to capture the whole family, as well as individual couples, family groupings, and the toddlers. We did a 2nd baby moon with our 2-year-old in Maui and decided to capture the memories! We looked at a few photography companies online and 808 Pictures has the best offers in package options. We were looking for a quick session as time was limited and dealing with a 2-year-old. 808 Pictures has just that along with many more. The company was very prompt to reply and was very helpful with location recommendations. We were set up with our photographer Lauren, she was very communicative, on time, and extremely good with our 2-year-old during the shoot. She made sure our expectations were met and showed us a few photos while shooting. We couldn’t be more pleased after seeing the photos and planning on using them in the future, as well as recommending friends and family!

My husband and I planned to have our photos taken for our 20-year anniversary. They recommend a great location for us and pretty much nobody was around at the beach. Booking the appointment was simple. Grace had several great suggestions for location timing for our sized group. Our photographer was Mallory. She was early to our appointment – very friendly and professional, flexible yet gave good direction. Moved along at a great pace. All of our group was over 20 years old but I can see that she would be super patient with younger children. After our photo session, every single one of us made a very nice comment about her and how she was interested in each person and made everyone feel special. We are so happy with our pictures and the variety of poses that she took. She has a great eye. I would highly recommend 808 Photography, Grace and Mallory. Our trip to Hawaii was a very special vacation for the whole family! Eric was absolutely amazing! He was super patient and thorough and we had so much fun !!! We had a couple of hiccups due to mobility issues but he absolutely found a way to work around everything and our pictures turned out absolutely gorgeous! The beach we went to outstanding the weather was perfect and could not have asked for a better day. I would definitely recommend 808 to anyone. We travel quite a bit to Hawaii and if we were to ever do professional photos again they would definitely be our first choice and I’d hire them again. I was so thankful to have found 808 Pictures after booking our family trip to Maui. I was drawn in by the beautiful pics on their website and reasonably priced sessions and pictures. From the beginning, Grace gave us clear information and direction on what our session would look like on the island. Our photographer Lauren was a perfect match for our family. These folks are amazing. This is my third time hiring a photographer but first time working with a booking agency and I was very impressed. The entire process was very smooth despite me asking lots of questions, all of which were answered very quickly. Booking was very simple and I was set up with our photographer Mallory. She messaged me a few days prior just to confirm everything and arrange the final details. Mallory was very nice, professional and most importantly her photos were incredible. We were sent a link to download our pictures a few weeks later and we couldn’t be happier. Given the unpredictable weather in Kona, it was sporadically raining during our shoot but Cheryl gave us a little extra time for when we had to wait for the rain to stop. We took these pictures for our pregnancy announcement and we were eager to send them out so Cheryl and Grace gave us an incredibly fast turnaround for which are SO grateful!! With their great prices and our great experience, I would highly recommend this company! I would also recommend contacting them directly through email instead of the form on the website.
I honestly don’t care for writing reviews and postings, however with the amazing customer service, professionalism, and care for our family experience with the photographer Greg. I was impelled and hard pressed to write something of my experience. If it’s your first time on Oahu or millionth they are hands down the go-to experts. I apologize to single this one man out but if you’re ever on the island of Oahu please personally ask for Greg. As for the whole support with 808 pictures it has been anything short of amazing. Do yourself a favor and contact 808 pictures if you’re looking for quality pictures for a GREAT value. After contacting several photographers for family photos while on vacation in Kauai, my wife decided to go with 808 pictures based on the affordable prices. We were nervous because they were half the price of other photographers. They were so easy to work with and coordinate with. We had to change our original location and date due to flooding in Kauai at that time. They gladly made the change easily and smoothly. The photographer Mallory was prompt and professional. we asked her to try and get the picture to be natural. She did so wonderfully. Couldn’t be happier. We will cherish these photos for a lifetime!

I used 808 Pictures for professional photos on Maui. I scheduled two sessions, morning with photographer Lauren and sunset with Ian. Both were very passionate about their work, were creative, and made for a fun photo experience for my husband and I. They worked with my several changes of clothing and specific poses, in addition to their own inspiration. I received almost 200 high-resolution photos and they were spectacular. Prior to our family vacation in Hawaii, I emailed several different photography companies and the quickest response I received was from Grace at 808 pictures. She continued to be very responsive while deciding on location and finalizing details. Our photographer Davin had creative ideas for poses and scenery and made the photo shoot a fun experience for our family. I would definitely use 808 Pictures again.
808 Pictures is phenomenal. First off, by far the cheapest option for a high-quality photo shoot on the island. Also, I had Ian, who was not just extremely friendly but took amazing shots as well and really seemed to love Maui. I’m planning another trip to Hawaii soon, and 808 will be my first call for some great shots, no matter which island I go to.

We were set up with Lauren as a photographer and she was absolutely amazing! We had 11 people in our group, 2 of which were infants under a year and she was SO patient and kind. She did a great job of capturing their attention and had creative ideas for the photos. I was slightly skeptical of how many 5 star reviews 808 received but after working with them, they deserve nothing but 5 stars. Would use again.

No call no showed to our beach wedding, then they had the nerve to offer a discount photo shoot the next day after the moment had passed and our family had left. We can’t reenact the emotions from that day. Very disappointed with this company and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

What an amazing experience from start to finish with 808 Pictures! Our photographer was Michele and she went out of her way to make everything perfect for our surprise proposal. I was in contact the week before and she made sure to answer any questions I had. She showed up early to there location to meet with our friend to get set up on the beach before we arrived. Michele wore normal clothes and sat on a beach towel to blend in as if she was there to just enjoy the beach and take pictures of the sunset. When the proposal came a time she took amazing pictures of the big moment and captured the look on my fiancés face perfectly all without my fiancé knowing she was there. For the next hour, we did an engagement shoot just before sunset while also taking some pictures with our families that were nearby. Michele had great ideas of different pictures and poses for us to do. She edited the photos in two days and got them back to us immediately. The high-resolution photos were more than we could’ve asked for and she went above and beyond any expectations that we had. It has become a tradition for my wife and me to have professional photos taken on each of our travels. Recently, we have done Rome and London and with a trip to Maui, HI., it was an obvious choice. After a somewhat lengthy search on the net, we discovered and ultimately chose 808 Pictures. They had the most reasonable rates and we loved the creativity we found in their sample galleries. Grace was very pleasant to work with. She set us up with Lauren to do the sunset shoot and provided a couple of locations for us to choose from. As we were staying at Kaanapali Beach, no professional photography is allowed ( not to mention just how crowded it is ), we decided on Kapalua Beach a short drive away.
Our photographer, Lauren, made contact with us the day prior to the shoot. It had been raining all week and we began to get worried. Lauren had a very positive outlook and persuaded us not to cancel. We are so glad that we kept our appointment and as Lauren had predicted, the rain had stopped. The overcast sky actually added to the overall outcome of the pictures with the setting sun peeking out at the perfect moment. Lauren is so fun and her pictures are amazing. She was able to help us relax and enjoy our photo shoot. A big thank you to 808 Pictures and to Lauren! We will definitely use them again on a future trip to the Islands. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish! We made our appointment with Grace; she was very accommodating and very friendly. We had never been to Kauai so we trusted our photographer Rachel to pick the location. She contacted us the night before with instructions and we met her at Shipwreck Beach. It was a beautiful location for pictures. Rachel was wonderful to work with, she was very patient and so great with my kids, and she took fabulous pictures! We expected the turn-around to take a couple of weeks but to our surprise, our pictures were ready the next day. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I called 808 pictures 3 days before leaving the island hoping to be able to get family pictures done, Grace responded immediately and was able to schedule is for the very next morning. We met Kinga our photographer at a beautiful beach in Maui for a 45-minute shoot. Kinga was amazing!!! She knew the beach very well so we got a lot done in 45 minutes. She worked so great with the kids and took natural photos as well as posed which was wonderful!! After this photo shoot, we have planned to have our family pictures done each trip to the island. It was windy and bright on the beach so if you go that route just be prepared for that but he tried different setups to get us the best pictures. This is my first time writing a review and I had to because of the exceptional experience I had. My fiancé and I wanted to get some professional pictures done while we were visiting Maui but could not find anything that was affordable by a professional company. While searching on google, I came across the 808 Pictures website and upon viewing their gallery I called to make an appointment right away. They accommodated us by doing the shoot close to our hotel and within the week of our trip. Not only this, but we received our pictures a few days after!! Let’s just start with I LOVE PHOTOS AND MEMORIES. On this particular trip, I was super nervous about making appt time of 8 am as we had a few little ones on tow. We showed up 20 minutes late, disorganized and frantic. Lauren was amazing in making everyone feel at ease and showing personality. She also allowed us the entire shoot hour even though we were sorely late.

We booked 808 Pictures for our first family photo shoot in Maui based on the great reviews and affordable packages and they delivered! Ian was professional, friendly, and not to mention funny. My fiancee doesn’t enjoy taking pictures, but Ian was able to crack a few jokes with him to ease him up. But the real trooper was Ian, who helped us keep an eye out for our little 12 mo. old as he was taking shots of us by the ocean. It was a really smooth session and we received proofs to review right away. They looked beautiful! We definitely recommend their business and will be using them again in the future on our next escape to the islands of Hawaii!

We had a magical family vacation on Maui, and thanks to 808 PICTURES, we now have incredible photos to treasure for a lifetime. We set up a photo session for our family of five hoping for beach photos under the setting sun. Our skilled photographer gave us suggestions about what beach was best for the photos and gave us guidance on our wardrobe, even recommending where we could find inexpensive clothes that would be best for family photos on the beach. The photography team showed up early for our meeting and were extremely efficient. They were also patient and engaging with our young children. They worked with us on different poses on the beach, in the ocean, and on rocks overlooking the ocean, all of which turned out amazing. We also wore leis and fun sunglasses in some shots. Overall, we found the team from Portraits on Maui to be extremely easy to work with and the end product exceeded our expectations. We arranged for a family photo shoot on our last trip to Maui. There were 10 of us in the group. The photographer recommended a beautiful beach in Kihei. Not only did this beach offer beautiful views of the water, but we also got shots on the rocks and in the trees with multiple different poses. The photographers were very friendly and accommodating. The whole family, including our Facebook friends, loved the photos.
We had a great photo session at Po’olenaleha Beach with our photographer, Lauren. She was very friendly and asked us what type of shots we wanted. She made us feel comfortable on the hot morning of our shoot. The sun was glaring, so she made sure she counted and we knew when to open our eyes! The beach was beautiful with Molokai in the background and we got lots of great shots by the ocean and by the huge rocks on the beach. My contact person, Grace, was also super friendly and accommodating. Our communication was always quick and she was so nice. My wife and I recently got our wedding pictures in Hawaii. We looked into using photographers that were based at the hotel we are staying at and others in the area and found that they were all highly overpriced. Until we found 808 pictures. 808 pictures were professional, friendly and fairly priced. We let them know that we did not have a vehicle and they sent their photographer Lauren to our location. Lauren was friendly and professional and even let us reschedule when the weather was a little bad on our original date. We received our photos two weeks after they were taken and they are all fantastic! They even gave us extras. I would highly recommend 808 pictures for all your photography needs. We had a group of 19 to 3 generation photo session at Po’olenalena Beach in Maui. Kinga, our photographer, did a fantastic job. She texted us the day before to remind us of the location and the time. She was on time and very friendly. She took many pictures of our whole group and then other pictures of each of the individual families. We enjoyed our time together during the session. After seeing our pictures we are very excited about the results. The pictures turned out fantastic. We highly recommend Kinga and 808 Pictures in Maui to others looking for a photographer who is experienced with large families.
Whilst visiting this beautiful island I was determined to get some great portraits to make the beautiful memories last, I did my research and they were by far the best! I had such a fun experience shooting with these guys, the team are amazing and made me feel so happy and relaxed throughout. I was over the moon with the results, the portraits were more than I could have hoped for, I couldn’t wait to show them off to my friends and family who of course thought they were amazing. I would definitely use this company again and recommend to anyone looking for a fun experience with fantastic results! AMAZING!

We came to Hawaii with our children to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. After our first day on the island and trying to take pictures on our own with a tripod, I realized it wasn’t going well and decided to hire a photographer. 808 Pictures came up on my google search…I liked their website and thought their pricing packages to be fair. They got back to me within the day and were able to locate a photographer who was available for our anniversary date, which was only a week away. Casey Chibirka did an excellent job photographing my family in Kauai. She made us feel at ease and captured some beautiful moments to last a lifetime. I’m so happy I came across 808 pictures and am very pleased with their overall service.
Casey our photographer is amazing!! She arrived early, immediately made us feel comfortable and worked great with our kids. We just viewed the photos and they are beyond excellent. Casey switched up the locations and assisted all four of us in getting into natural poses. She took advantage of the soft evening light and I swear, every picture is a keeper. Hands down the best investment we’ve made all week. Grace the photography coordinator was super professional, accommodating to our schedule and would follow up with questions or concerns via email or phone immediately. Two Thumbs Up!!!
My husband and I could not recommend 80O8 Pictures more highly for your special professional photo session when visiting Maui. We were able to book this session on very short notice after we had already arrived. Graham was very patient in answering all my questions before the shoot and was very professional the day of the session. He really knows how to interact with his clients to bring out the emotions that make for wonderful pictures. Additionally, he took us to a beach which made for a gorgeous backdrop, probably better than any we could have found ourselves. Our 30-minute photo shoot was so much fun; we were really put at ease! Graham stayed in touch with us after the session and promptly had our photos ready just a few days later. So many of them are just precious and we will cherish them as a memory of our vacation forever. I organized a surprise sunset proposal to my girlfriend in Oahu w/ 808 Pictures w/ the help of Grace and had the entire event captured on film by photographer Greg. This was an unforgettable experience and the time and investment were really worth it. I was organizing this event from overseas but 808’s Grace walked me through all the best locations not just from a romantic setting perspective but also through a professional photographer’s lens in terms of the best background, lighting, etc. She handled all the logistics perfectly. Greg met us on site and his naturally positive and outgoing character was really helpful to give us natural smiles and my girlfriend enjoyed every moment of being the model of the shoot. Greg has been living in Hawaii for 20+ years so he has that local know-how on when and where would be the most beautiful locations to capture the moment. Needless to say the actual proposal was captured flawlessly (not to mention the turnaround was really fast!) In this smartphone age, I had forgotten the beauty of getting unforgettable moments captured on film and I’m very glad I made the decision to do so w/ the help of 808, Grace and Greg for this endeavor.

My husband and I decided to take anniversary pictures while in Maui from South Carolina. The experience was amazing, it was truly an adventure. I must say it wasn’t what I expected..just a regular beach photo shoot..oh no..this was a shoot like you see on tv for magazines. After surprising my girlfriend with a holiday to the island of Maui I wanted to treat her to her dream photo shoot on the beach. Experiences with previous photographers haven’t been the best but this company exceeded expectations, they went above and beyond to make our day special even took us for shaved ice! We had the best day and I’d like to say we can call them friends if we are ever back in the area we will be sure to give them a call. The portraits we took home perfectly captured the amazing experience we had on the island and I would 100% recommend them to anyone.

We didn’t intend on having our family pictures but after seeing a promo card in one of the shops in Lahaina we just loved their work. We are so happy with the results and their professionalism. Now we have the hard task of choosing which one to blow up, after looking at so many good ones.

One word to sum up our photo shoot experience…awesome!! Originally, we planned to take engagement photos with Graham, but then we decided to elope on Maui and have him take our wedding and then engagement photos all in the same day. We have been coming to Maui every year since 2002. We usually have our portrait done at sunset and although we were satisfied with the other photographers, we decided to try someone different. We came across 808 Pictures and booked a two-hour photography session. We have never had such amazingly beautiful pictures and had so much fun in the process. Although my husband wasn’t feeling up to it, he certainly got into the mood, thanks to the direction and sense of humor of the photographers. We will be hiring them every year from now on. I worked with Graham on a shoot for a surprise capture of my engagement proposal on the beach in Maui and HIGHLY recommend working with him for something like this, or any type of photo shoot. This was a bit of a random request, however Portraits on Maui and their team jumped through hoops to accommodate my request and make it absolutely perfect, here’s what happened: I initially asked him to hide out on the beach at a set time, and then he went above and beyond the request, including checking out the spot in advance to determine the best vantage points to capture the surprise moment and getting it from multiple angles (down to the details of which direction to face when proposing for the best shot), working with me to coordinate the exact time via text beforehand, hiding out in a beach cave for 15 minutes to make sure it was a complete surprise, and then he even cleared out random beach walkers who were in the way of the shot just before the exact moment! The pictures came out AMAZING, and he had them back for me so quickly for us to share with friends and family. There are a lot of photographers that try and brand themselves as ‘proposal specialists’ but 808 Pictures did an incredible job for fraction of the price compared to what the other companies charge for this type of shoot. If I end up going back to Maui for the wedding, I’m definitely going to hire 808 Pictures and their great team. Thank you so much!!!

So I hired Graham and his assistant for an engagement session and it was beyond anything I could have ever dreamed up! Not only did they take the initiative to hide and disguise themselves as tourists to get the perfect shot, but they also made the whole process so simple. All I had to do was worry about asking the question and they took care of all of the rest. It was such short notice and they still managed to make it all happen. Not only that but because it was such a special day for us they put a rush on our photos and had them ready to view in 24 hours. Just beyond excellent customer service all around. I highly recommend them for any type of photoshoot! Our photos are perfect gorgeous memories we will cherish forever.
